“I’ve witnessed surfers getting over five long barrels on a single wave, but Rifles is not a consistent wave. Conditions have to align perfectly. Rifles requires a swell with a distinct south direction and winds that are moderately west, not too strong. I recommend targeting the early season (April/May), and if you’re fortunate enough to score an epic day here, it could genuinely be the best session of your life.”

10. Rifles
SWELL
Rifles is a highly variable wave, relying on a south swell with precisely the right angle to produce extremely long rides.
Wind
The ideal wind conditions are West to low Northwest winds. When combined with the right swell direction, magic happens.
Tide
Ideal conditions coincide with high tide, even though it’s still a shallow reef at high tide.
Location
Rifles is situated at Karangmajat Island, surrounded by beautiful and pristine waters.
Distance
Expect a pleasant 15 to 20-minute boat ride from Playground Surf Resort, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and scout surf breaks along the way.
